Scenic Waters

Dedicated to the beauty of Alaska’s waterways, this is the place for submitting colorful or striking images of rivers and streams and ocean settings. The act of fishing or the fish themselves are not mandatory in this category, only the natural splendor of things.

Fishing Action

People fishing and in the midst of a battle with fish is the theme here. Color, mood, and composition, as well as speed and action, are important to show the true spirit of what makes sport fishing such a special activity on so many levels.

Grip-and-Grin

This is the category to show off the prize catch! Structure, light, and color of the angler and the fish should be highlighted and apparent in these images. Of particular interest for top positions include fish shots that are clean and attractive, including catch-and release situations.

All About the Fish

An interesting category that can reveal the artistic and philosophical nature of fish and fishing, from unique close-ups to more abstract compositions involving scenery and life cycles; however, the focal point must be the fish.
